Once or twice a week? That's all. Surprise: You're normal!
-
@harrywannaquit- Maybe you want to give us some insight on your spiritual life? Are you a Christian? What do you believe and how does that affect your desire to want to quit watching porn?
I ask this cause I mean why would anyone bother to quit porn and masturbation if there is no God...just seems pointless to stop...or even start....it's all just not worth even talking about I guess at that point...I'lll stop ranting lol
God bless u -
Atheists and agnostics still have their own moral beliefs @superanonymouse . If they don't like being addicted to smoking or whatever, then they would be interested in suggestions from others who have quit to find out what works.

@eastcoast- If God can't help him I doubt we can
-
Wait I'll try
@harrywannaquit- throw away your pc -
Harry... I just posted "Back Again".
One of the things that has changed my life in the past few weeks has been listening to the audiobook Every Man's Battle. If you can, pick up a copy. It has changed my life... I hope it will make a difference for you as well. -
I'm Christian. who really wants to stop. but it seems that the attraction is really strong. I can't throw away my computer cos all my work is based on it.
I'm sure God wants me to quit and lead a better life too
I've told alot of my friends and parents.
Its a start..... atleast -
@HarryWannaQuit Here's what I discovered: My problem with being addicted to porn wasn't because porn was evil and I was weak or sinful. My addiction to porn was self-administered via masturbation. Now, that in itself is no surprise, until you learn that our brains recall every specific thing about how we obtain certain basic needs such as food and sex... yes, sex is a need from your brain's point of view, its called survival of the species. So, when you orgasm while watching porn, guess what happens: you are programming your brain to watch porn in order to achieve the biological directive of regular ejaculations and orgasm. If you had started having sex, say a lot of sex, shortly after puberty, then your brain would have learned dependency upon real sex instead of artificial stuff that you are using to fool your mind into thinking its having sex... so as to achieve the biological imperative of regular orgasms and ejaculation.
Solution: Maintain the "biological imperatives", but at a reduced, disciplined interval and do it either with your wife, focusing on her to the max, or if alone, just to achieve sexual release and pleasure, without usage of images, videos or even memories-- at least for a time. This simple discipline... and it requires discipline... will train your brain to accept less sensory input the next time it desire sexual expression. There's no sin in your brain and body desiring sexual expression and if you are single, masturbation is provided as a temporary means to be had without guilt or shame. That's also another key, learn that masturbation is normal and not to be ashamed of it. There is a down feeling that follows, but that too is normal-- its God and your brain's way of saying, FIND a partner... important goal. As I said, this will also reduce your libido somewhat because you're no longer feeding your mind porn, which is over stimulation of the brain. The reduced frequency begets further reduction of frequency, but a couple times a week minimum is considered healthy for middle age guys as I recall-- keeps the pipes clean so to speak and the prostate in good order.

You are smart to try to keep this from becoming a big habit, because it CAN get out of control and there is a tendency when you are in the addiction brain, to want more and more perverted things. There's a lot to learn about this, but I hope some of this is helpful. -
It is true that when i watch porn now, i tend to masturbate.
Heres the biggest problem. i'm not any middle aged guy. i'm just 18!!!!
but thanks for the comment. at least i know people care. Thanks:) -
@harrywannaquit- Pretty soon you'll be 20,21,22...32,42,52 and still have an addiction of you don't surrender you sin (give it up) and let God handle it. But you must first decide you really want to give it up.
Some Christians say they want to give it up, pray about giving it up, open up to counselers about giving it up...but in their heart they really don't want to give it up.
You have to make a choice, daily maybe to give it up. And fight the temptation.
God bless you -
