GENERAL: What Do Romance Novels Teach Us?
  • As much as our notions of "Romance" affect our society, our culture, and EVEN our view of love taught at the pulpit on Sundays, maybe Romance Novels ain't that bad? :-}

    I thought this might be a fun, off-beat topic to discuss...especially from the women out there! I'm sorry if this might be a slippery temptation for some...it's not that I agree with everthing in this link, but there is some good food-for-thought. Any takers?

    Nice thoughts there, and some of the "take aways" were in contradiction I think to the romance fantasy presented. I think Christian ladies read Christian romance novels, not secular, but there are probably similarities of the two.

    I think there may be occasions where two people meet who are ideally suited for each other -- destiny, soul mates -- but I think its the exception. Most of us have to work at our relationships to keep them going, submitting to each other.

    Life is not like a romance novel.

  • I was surprised to see there are actually constructive things to learn from a romance novel...some good guidance for life...

  • ...going back to the original question...apparently little, here! :O
