X3 WATCH (MAC): Cant Add Partners -
  • Scott+GourleyScott Gourley February 2011

I just installed X3 Watch and cannot add my partners. After I type in the email address and hit enter, I get an error message that reads "Error checking for upgrade . . . make sure you have an active internet connection." Can anyone help me? Obviously, I have an internet connection because I had just downloaded the software.

    Hi Scott-

Try uninstalling the program- rebooting and reinstalling.

I'm having the same problem. I uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted...the whole nine yards and still it tells me when I try to add a partner that I must have an active internet connection. Has anyone else figured out a solution?

I am going to forward this thread to the developer- Hopefully they can shed some light on it.

    I did all the same . . . a couple times.

it seems to be not only a problem with adding partners, but with the program's "system preferences pane" connecting to the internet. mine won't check for updates, add partners, and seems to be stuck as there's a loading wheel in the bottom right corner that has stopped moving.

any help would be MUCH appreciated

Yes, Adam's correct. You can't do anything. The reason I noticed this was because I was checking for an update because a report has not been sent for the past month or so. The program doesn't seem to have been working properly.

    **Update**

I have been told that they are now aware of the issue (thank you) and they are looking into it and will fix it ASAP.

    Thanks again!

    Hi all,

I'm experiencing the same issues. I run a 2.4 GHz Macbook Pro with OS X 10.6.6. I didn't know if these specs would help, but perhaps we can find commonalities in our systems and therefore better address the problem?

    Thanks

I'm also on a mac, running 10.5.something. i also have a pc at home and i didn't have troubles with the program on that one. perhaps its a compilation issue in the mac version?

I'm on a MacBook Pro (2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) running Version 10.6.6.

Was anything ever figured out here? I'm having this same issue. I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and still get the same message that Scott got last February. I'm running a MacBook Air with Mac OSX Version 10.6.8.
